Figuring out what to make for dinner every night just got easier! I know everyone dreads the question, “What do you want to eat?” and a reply of the classic “I don’t care, what ever you want…” and the back and forth bickering until eventually one person gets what they want and the other is left to mosey on with the choices the other made.

Let’s skip that tiring argument and take a look at all the craving-satisfying meals I have planned out for you this week…

You’re welcome.

Monday

Asian Veggie Chicken and Rice
We’re starting this Monday off a little easier to lighten the load of it just being a Monday, how terrible. It won’t be so terrible though, when you sit down to enjoy this flavor-packed meal that only took you less than 30 minutes to create. Did I mention it’s also easy on the wallet? The kicker here is that you will have to go to whichever Hy-vee is closest to you to find this specific sauce. Listen up though, because you WILL want to FIND THIS SAUCE. It is by far one of my favorite pre-made exotic sauces! You can thank me later

Asian Vegetable Chicken & Rice RECIPE : .2 cups white rice .1 large chicken breast or 2 small cubes .1 cup broccoli chopped .1 cup cauliflower chopped .1/4 carrots chopped .1 basket mushrooms sliced .1/2 small red onion diced .1 tbs olive oil .1 tbs sriracha .1/4 cup sesame teriyaki sauce .1tbs soy sauce . Salt and pepper to liking HOW TO CREATE THIS MASTERPIECE : First cook your rice and get that s*** out of the way (follow direction on package) I used a wok pan but you can use a sauté pan or whatever pan u please I’m pretty sure they all cook s*** I started by sautéing my veggies with the olive oil once they looked a little soft I added the chicken and all of the seasoning sauces listed above , I basically cooked it on high heat (śîžžłë) until I knew that the chicken was done , salt and pepper that ish and serve with a side of rice (clearly for visual effect I added more soy sauce and sriracha) DO WHATEVER YOU WANT Anyways…. NOW PUT THAT S*** IN YOUR MOUTH AND EAT IT (please) Thanks as always @torimcgeehon #foodie #food #foodporn #foodblogger #instafood #igfood #foodlove #foodgasm#eating #goodeats #eats #chef #cheflife #kitchen #thicc #bloggerlife #blog #bloggers #dinner #feast #foodphotography #nom #bowl #asian #rice #spicy #chicken #veggies #hot #tagtheqc

Tuesday

Spanish Style Nachos
I guess I am feeling pretty nice starting the week off, because not only is the aroma, color, and flavor of this dish going to knock your socks off, but it’s pretty dang simple to create. Who doesn’t like to throw a bunch of yummy, cheesy, spicy ingredients onto a boat load of crispy tortilla chips?? The cool thing about this recipe is that it’s completely up to you what you want to keep from this recipe or add to it to make it ….dare I say…even better? Let’s spark some creative kitchen magic, let me know in the comments below what you might/plan to add to this dish!

SPANISH STYLE NACHOS : RECIPE: .1 tilapia fillet .1 cup shrimp .1 pouch chicken taco seasoning .1 cup (mommas 3 way salsa from previous blog post) .1 handful pickled jalapeños .2 tbs hot sauce (@cholulahotsauce is what I prefer to use) .1 bag shredded queso cheese .1 lime .1 bag @donkey_chips HOW TO PUT THIS “ish” TOGETHER : First Sauté your fish and shrimp seasoned with the taco seasoning Layer the chips with all the ingredients listed (use the f*** outta that cheese ) and top with hot sauce and lime juice (nachos are pretty self explanatory) I broiled it at 500*F for a few minutes checking on it frequently because the broiler is a shady b**** Once the cheese is melted and a little crisp you’re good to go Then put that s*** in your mouth and enjoy… Thanks as always @torimcgeehon #foodie #food #foodporn #foodblogger #instafood #igfood #foodlove #foodgasm #foods #eating #goodeats #eats #chef #cheflife #kitchen #thicc #issa #bloggerlife #blog #bloggers #chips #salsa #cheese #queso #lime #dinner #feast #foodphotography #nom

Wednesday

Brinner Breakfast Sammies
Today I chose to  take a break from the classic dinner items. Who says you can’t have breakfast for dinner!? Well screw it, because you’re going to want to get in on this breakfast sammie! Have you looked at it? With your eyes? Do you see all that sexy, cheesy, dripping ooeey-ness coming out of that sandwich!? CRAZY? The great thing about this recipe is you can quadruple the ingredients and prepare yourself some leftovers! All you have to do is wrap the left over sammies in some thicc paper towels and store them in the freezer! (Make sure they are in an air tight container or bag.) Then you can just pop them in the microwave for about 3 to 4 minutes the next morning or throughout the week!

Thursday

Strawberry Pecan Bacon Salad
Are you dragging through this week? Boy don’t Thursday’s suck, they are like fake Monday’s, am I right . It’s like your there but not quiiiiittttttteee yet. Well, for today’s meal, I want to try to brighten the mood a little with fresh, colorful, but oh-so-flavorful ingredients. This combination is one of my favorite salads. The flavors are seriously out of this world and I love combining salty and sweet. If you want to add some more protein or a filler to this salad, a nice seasoned garlic grilled chicken does the trick!

STRAWBERRY BACON PECAN SALAD (Basically the salad ingredients are in the name but here we goooooo) RECIPE 1 bag ruby blend lettuce (or whatever you want ) 1 crate strawberries fresh 1 small bag pecans 1 cup dried cranberries 1 can mandarin oranges drained 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 pack apple wood bacon 1 cup grated parm Salt and pepper to taste HOW TO PUT THIS ISH TOGETHER Soooooooo basically make sure your bacon is cooked/chopped ???? , chop strawberries into 1/4 and set aside , in another bowl mix the brown sugar and cranberry, toast pecans, while still hot toss in with sugar/cran mix. Now toss everything together in a big bowl, oranges included . You really don’t need a dressing with this salad since the oranges ???? coat the lettuce ; but I’d recommend a sweet dressing , poppy seed NOW PUT THAT S*** IN YOUR MOUTH AND EAT IT Thanks as always @torimcgeehon #salad #strawberry #strawberries #pecan #bacon #oranges #cranberry #lettuce #greens #healthy #brownsugar #sugar #lunch #dinner #chef #cheflife #blog #blogger #food #foodporn #foodblog #foodblogger #foodblogger #bloggerlife

Friday

Avocado Caprese Thin Crust Pizzas
It’s Fri-YAY!! For many of you starting your new years diet (or maybe even already gave up) this might be your cheat day. The plus side to this meal, though, is it’s actually pretty healthy in retrospect. If you wanted to make it even more calorie-friendly you could try to build it on a flat-out brand crust! (Check out their website here: Flatout Bread) You can also add whatever toppings you would like to it. If you find any AMAZING flavor combinations, you will have to share with me! Let me know in the comments below, or you can always reach out on any social media platform! Knowledge is power and I’m always looking to learn from suggestions!

AVOCADO CAPRESE THIN CRUST PIZZAS (Yes they look sexy, yes they also tasted sexy, yes .. you are welcome) RECIPE Two thin crusts of your choice 3 avocados mashed 3 cups chopped cherry toms 2 big bunches basil 1 motz log 1 handful bacon (optional) 2 big tbs puréed roasted garlic 2 big tbs olive oil Salt and pepper to taste (Balsamic glaze optional ) HOW TO PUT THIS ISH TOGETHER So first I rubbed the crust down with the olive oil and then spread the garlic , mash the Avocados and spread like pizza sauce , top with the cherry toms, then slice the basil into thin sections , sprinkle over top , R.I.P. apart the motz cheese and sprinkle evenly , (if you want bacon this is where you would sprinkle cooked bacon ) then salt and pepper to taste (it’s okay to use a lot because we didn’t season the avocado and the motz isn’t really salty ) I put them in the oven for about 12 min at 500*F until cheese was melty and a little brown . If you want balsamic glaze this is when you would drizzle NOW PUT THAT S*** IN YOUR MOUTH AND EAT IT Thanks as always @torimcgeehon #foodie #food #foodporn #foodblogger #instafood #igfood #foodlove #foodgasm #goodeats #eats #chef #cheflife #kitchen #thicc #bloggerlife #blog #snack #nom #tagtheqc #quadcities #f4f #tomatoes #motzarella #basil #pizza #cheese #dinner #bacon #avocado

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE

If you’re like us, some nights there is just too much going on to find time to cook! On those nights, convenience takes precedence. That doesn’t have to mean you are giving up quality, though! We asked Tori for her expert advice on those days that we’re just too tired or busy to prepare a meal.
This week, she recommends supporting THESE local establishments:

“Life is rough. I get that you won’t always have time, motivation, or brain power to keep running to the store, making dinner, or even thinking about a meal plan… thankfully, we have A TON of great places that do all that for you in the QC.”

This week, I decided to set up a little adventure day for you. Ever find yourself bored and don’t know where to start your exploring? Well, here you go! You can start your morning relaxing at home, and by lunchtime make your way down to Cafè D Marie’s for a nice brunch. They were actually just awarded best coffee by U.S.A today! After that, you can burn off some calories walking the shops downtown Davenport. Once the sun starts to set, make your way to Analog, they just opened a new location in downtown Moline, but either location ROCKS! Once your stomach starts to growl, and you’re all out of tokens, stop by MJ’s for some take out and plop your butt right back on the couch, enjoy a movie and eat your takeout!

As always, if you have any questions about my recipes or suggestions please reach out! Also, of course, let me know some of your favorite QC food-related establishments or anything you would like me to check out!!

. . .

Thanks, as always,
Tori McGeehon
