Figuring out what to make for dinner every night just got easier! I know everyone dreads the question, “What do you want to eat?” and a reply of the classic “I don’t care, what ever you want…” and the back and forth bickering until eventually one person gets what they want and the other is left to mosey on with the choices the other made.

Let’s skip that tiring argument and take a look at all the craving-satisfying meals I have planned out for you this week…

You’re welcome.

Monday

Seasoned Steak Bites
I’m pretty sure everyone hates Mondays, unless you are lucky and have them off, right? Well, what better way to brighten your Monday than indulging in some savory seasoned steak!?!? I like this recipe because it’s simple, yet packs a whole lot of flavor. For someone like me, that doesn’t eat a whole lot of red meat, it’s a perfect balance of smaller portions but still packs protein. This recipe has so many uses from topping off a salad, enjoying with some garlic potatoes, or serving them with a little seasoned rice, the options are endless!
P.S. If you want a little extra flavor on those bites, just right before they are to your liking of done-ness, throw on the broiler for some extra crisp and caramelization!

STEAK BITES ( I’m not a huge fan of red meat but dannnnnngggggg these were amazing) RECIPE: 2 lb steak of choice ( tender is best) 3 tbs olive oil(the higher the quality the better) 2 tbs minced garlic 1 tbs garlic powder 1 tbs dried parsley 1 tbs sea salt 2 tsp pepper (I added more garlic because ummm who doesn’t love garlic and it adds more of a pop of flavor) Salt and pepper to taste HOW TO PUT THIS ISH TOGETHER So it’s REALLY HARD to prepare this meal….. kidding …. chop the steak into bite size pieces and dump into a bowl , sprinkle all other ingredients over top of the meat and toss together until everything is evenly coated . Pour out onto a large sheet tray, make sure they are all spread out and have room , and throw into the oven at 450*F Cook until your liking of done-ness but I like to wait until I see a little crisp and caramelization on the bites Serve with some potatoes (hint hint** 19 post back I have some killer roasted potatoes) NOW PUT THAT S*** IN YOUR MOUTH AND EAT IT Thanks as always @torimcgeehon #steak #steaktips #steakbites #drooling #redmeat #beef #garlic #seasoned #dinner #meal #recipe #easydinner #foodie #chef #foodblog #foodblogger #blog #blogger #qcfindnowfoods #qc #quadcities #davenport #iowa #illinois #tagtheqc

Cranberry Apple Chicken Brussels Sprout Salad
After we indulged in all that red meat yesterday, let’s keep it light with this brussels sprout based salad. Now, if you have never eaten a raw brussels sprout, it is an experience to have. To me, alone, they have a little punch or spice to them, but when paired with all of the ingredients in this salad, the flavors are out of this world! I understand that it is the new year and many of you will embark on this year’s journey of becoming a healthier human. So, my suggestion with these meal plans is to always reflect on the recipe, and then change it! YEP that’s right, I said change it. Be creative in the kitchen. If you don’t like a certain spice, or this meal doesn’t fit into your calorie counter, then CHANGE IT ! (Also, FYI these meals are great on their own. I wouldn’t share otherwise, I just want you to be comfortable in the kitchen!) That being said, maybe you feel bad about what all you ate yesterday. You can always omit the chicken or choose a lighter dressing. All I want is to spark some kitchen creativity!!

Wednesday

Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders
It’s hump day, we are all on the struggle bus. Friday is sooooo close, yet so far away… but don’t worry, I have a solution! However, it involves A LOT of cheese and a beautiful ham. For me, the one thing that makes a really good slider, (besides melty, gooey cheese & a nice juicy ham) is the sauce! If the classic, oh-so-good pairing of ham and cheese doesn’t get you ready to dive into these sliders, then this sauce will. I’m sure you have seen many recipes of renditions of a hot ham and cheese or maybe even a slider, but none with a flavor packing punch like this, I promise. I really took some time figuring out this sauce that will put you x3 bars above average so I hope you enjoy & don’t be afraid to dig in there!

Lather in mayo and layer ham and cheese on every piece . Top with buns and then pour melted butter mixture over evenly. Bake at 350*F until cheesy is melted and bubbly NOW PUT THAT S*** IN YOUR MOUTH AND EAT IT Thanks as always @torimcgeehon #ham #cheese #hotham #cheesy #sandwich #poppy #poppyseed #lunch #dinner #bake #foodporn #bloggerlife #cheflife #chef #blog #blogger #foodblog #foodblogger

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE

If you’re like us, some nights there is just too much going on to find time to cook! On those nights, convenience takes precedence. That doesn’t have to mean you are giving up quality, though! We asked Tori for her expert advice on those days that we’re just too tired or busy to prepare a meal.
This week, she recommends supporting THESE local establishments:

“Life is rough. I get that you won’t always have time, motivation, or brain power to keep running to the store, making dinner, or even thinking about a meal plan… thankfully, we have A TON of great places that do all that for you in the QC.”

This week, I wanted to focus on more of the exotic restaurants the QC has to offer. It’s very rare that we see these ingredients or produce needed to create exotic meals at home, in chain grocery stores. So why not, every once in a while, go enjoy those types of meals and ingredients and explore the flavors of the world created by someone that already knows so much about them!

Check these local places out!

http://mantraqc.com/
http://thaifoodqc.com/index.html (One of the best Curry’s in the QC!)
http://hemispheresbistro.com/ (Anything you order here will uphold the highest grade of food quality and everything is pleasing to your stomach & eyes as well, it’s on the higher end of the budget, but it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a drink, an appetizer, or maybe even share a meal!)

As always, if you have any questions about my recipes or suggestions please reach out! Also, of course, let me know some of your favorite QC food-related establishments or anything you would like me to check out!!

. . .

Thanks, as always,
Tori McGeehon
