Are you ready for a drink and the best burger of your life?
Go to Roam.

ROAM is a brand new gift to us Quad Citizens, thought into action by QC natives Dylan and Griffin Steil! This brasserie/lounge/bar/moto garage is a unique establishment that brings a whole new dynamic to night-life in the QC … and mid-day life … and morning life!
Roam is hard to explain if you haven’t been there and if you have, you know exactly what I mean. You try your best to describe the one-of-a-kind atmosphere and unique food/drink menus but you know you can’t do it justice. The most accurate thing you can find to say is that everyone needs to see it for themselves. Every time you go there it’s a new experience, but you can always expect the same friendly and knowledgeable staff, delicious food, amazing drinks, and overall unique atmosphere.

There truly is something there for everyone.

We at QC Find Now have been graced with the opportunity to visit Roam on a few separate occasions and have been more than impressed each time! We decided we needed to sit down with owners/brothers Dylan and Griffin and find out the scoop behind the QC’s newest!

Roam
/rōm/

Verb
1.move about or travel aimlessly or unsystematically, especially over a wide area.

Why Roam? We at Roam wanted to create a space where passion meets adventure. A place to explore, educate, enjoy, and experience. What did we come up with? A Brasserie, Lounge, Bar, & Moto Garage.
Roam offers a full menu, bar, and coffee shop. We just happen to have a motorcycle garage in the back. Our offerings are designed like our space…to create an experience. Think shared plates, exploratory beverages, and freedom of expression on the open road.
Live. Ride. Roam.

What inspired you to open a café/bar? [Griffin answering]
My brother and I grew up with similar passions and interests. Over the last few years, Dylan was inspired to open a business focusing on motorcycles AND upscale cocktails. He knew if he didn’t do it now, he never would. He asked me if I wanted on board, and with the addition of food and coffee … we have ROAM!

What sparked the specific idea behind ROAM?
Tying back to what’s previously stated, a common passion between my brother and I sparked the idea. We’ve had the pleasure of travelling around the world and being exposed to many unique concepts; concepts that our home, the Quad Cities, was lacking. Dreaming of what we lacked, we were able to grasp some of the ideas we were most passionate about from around the world and bring them home.

Your small business is definitely unique. What do you think makes it most unique to the Quad Cities?
I think the most unique thing we bring to the Quad Cities is our concept as a whole. It’s almost impossible to explain everything we do under this one roof to someone and have the reality of the experience come off correctly. We’re essentially four machines all operating in harmony. Gotta see it to believe it!

What is your favorite part about owning and operating a café/bar?
My favorite part, so far, has been the people. My brother and I have never owned, operated, or worked in this industry before so we meet a new face every day in this tight-knit community. They are hands down some of the nicest, hardest-working and passionate people I’ve met in my life. One word would sum them up. Grinders. No one I’ve met outworks them.

If the Quad Cities needed to know one thing about your locally owned business, what would it be?
For us, it’s about quality and consistency across the board. Food, coffee, drinks and motorcycles. Everything we do is unique. We set ourselves apart in at least one aspect of every department. In the QC, you’d be hard pressed to find what we do at Roam anywhere else!

Why did you choose to open your own business as opposed to working for someone else?
A passion for more. We couldn’t find exactly what we wanted here at home. So instead of leaving town to find it, we brought it back for others to enjoy as well.

What is your favorite part about being located in the Quad Cities?
My favorite part about being located in the Quad Cities is that it’s home. It doesn’t matter where I go and what I do, coming home feels great. This is a great community that has a ton to offer. We’re moving in the right direction. Every day it feels like I see a new business moving in or an old building being revamped. It fits our motorcycle personality, too! Why go elsewhere and buy new? Restore what you have and make it perfect for you.

How long has your business been running?
We are brand new! We had two private openings before Christmas. Starting the 26th, we started public soft openings leading up to our grand opening January 11th!

What are your hopes/vision of ROAM for the future?
Our hopes are that the community accepts our passion for what we do. Although we’re new, we have a lot of ideas on how to keep adding to our business that you will be seeing over time. We never want to be stagnant or complacent. We will continue to evolve Roam consistently. Our only consistency is change.

Is there anything you would like to see more of in the QC?
Just more of what I’m already seeing. Keep building up the Quad Cities, it’s a great area and we have a lot to offer. I hope more people out there put their touch on it.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
My only addition would be to thank the Quad Cities for the tremendous support so far. I’m even more proud now to call this my home. Come check us out for a new experience like nothing else in the Quad Cities!

Thank you so much, Dylan and Griffin, for giving us the opportunity to get to know you and your business a little better! We wish you the best of luck in the future and can’t wait to see you and your business continue to flourish!
