We L O V E this segment!
We had the wonderful opportunity to interview the interviewer and this is what we found!
What is the inspiration behind Living Local?
Living Local was launched to be a resource for viewers. The program is designed to offer educational, informational and inspirational content. Living Local exists to spotlight the people and places that make our area a great place to live, work and play while offering solutions to everyday problems we all face!
Your show is definitely unique. What do you think makes it most unique to the Quad Cities Area?
I think our focus on viewer benefit is what makes Living Local stand out. Each segment on the program identifies a problem, then introduces a local expert who offers a solution. I also think the energy and conversational tone my co-host Ashe and I bring to the show creates a fun and welcoming atmosphere for not only our guests but also the viewers watching at home.
What is your favorite part about FILMING in the Quad Cities?
The Quad Cities offers so much diversity. Each city brings its own unique culture. There is a wide variety of arts, entertainment, dining, activities, sports, recreation and education. The Quad Cities as a whole is a thriving area big enough to offer all the amenities you need in a city, but still maintain that small, hometown feel. I also love the uniqueness of covering topics and events in two different states along the Mighty Mississippi!
What is your favorite part about LIVING in the Quad Cities?
My favorite part is the balanced way of life here. There is always something fun to do, but you don’t have to deal with the high living cost or traffic like bigger cities. Plus, the people are amazing. In my two years calling the Quad Cities home, I’ve come to know Quad Citians as an incredibly generous, friendly and hard-working group of people!
What are your favorite things to do locally?
I’m a wino, so the ladies at the Wide River Winery tasting room in the East Village know me by name. Ha! I also LOVE the music scene here. There is so much talent to be enjoyed! I enjoy hitting up the YMCA for a workout, attending Community Yoga, being a Big for Big Brothers Big Sisters, attending church, hiking on Sylvan Island, biking on the many wonderful QC trails, taking my pup Wendy to the Bettendorf dog park, trips to Le Claire, and trying out new restaurants!
What has been your favorite location/establishment to interview so far?
Country Corner Pumpkin Patch in Alpha, Illinois. The owner, Bruce (aka Bruce-O-Lantern) was such a fun character! He has such a warm and welcoming personality. I got to visit the petting zoo, take a tour of the farm, practice my shot with the corn cannon, and Bruce even sent my crew home with some homemade goodies. Bruce embodies that friendly, easygoing and wholesome Midwesterner attitude to a tee. It was a fantastic experience that reminded me how blessed I am to call the Quad Cities home!
What do you wish you could see more of in the QC?
More utilization of our beautiful riverfront!
If the Quad Cities needed to know one thing about your show, what would it be?
It’s ALL about local viewer benefit!
